June 2019

Olivia loves to get out and Matt took her to the park and on a hike to find a cave.

Ashton was chosen to be on his schools student council and they have an assembly to welcome the next years kids. So many kids apply to be on the council and usually they only have 12 but they had 15 this year. Almost 40 kids applied to be on it and some kids were in tears over not making it. It was one of the best things to happen for Ashton. He would have been okay not being on it and originally didn't make the cut and then his principal called me to let me know she just couldn't get his name out of her mind and knew he was meant to be on student council.

Of course I had to say hi to this cute kindergartener!

Earlier that same day Kaleb had a breakfast and awards ceremony for 9th graders for different accomplishments. Kaleb was on the honor roll all 3 years and almost had straight A's the whole time. I think he had 1 A- and 1 B+. They had it catered from Kneader's and it was yummy!

Olivia was one smart kindergartener. I was always amazed at some of the big words she used.

A fun manicure and pedicure and lunch outing with our friends.

June 8, 2019

We had fun putting together puzzles that I remember doing at my grandparents house growing up. Brought back a lot of memories of all of the weekly Sunday dinners there.

I tried growing starts from some of my grandma's rose bushes. She had the prettiest and best smelling rose varieties. Of the 12 or so I planted only 1 made it and we planted it at my parents house but I'm not sure it survived.

Olivia finished her first week of zoo camp. The boys did some engineering and computer programming camps up at the University of Utah and Olivia really wanted to do a camp too.

June 12, 2019

She loved feeding the giraffe. They did all sorts of crafts each day and got to see different animals up close.

My previous appointment I had mentioned how my feet and hands were itchy even though there wasn't a rash or anything. I only brought it up because 4 or 5 years ago I remember reading an article about how not to ignore itchy hands and feet during pregnancy. Had I have not read that article I don't think I would have given it a second thought. I'm so glad I did though.

My first test a couple weeks prior showed my bile acid levels normal. Anything under 10 is considered normal. After mentioning to my doctor it was getting worse he had me tested again and this time it was 32 which meant I did in fact have Cholestasis of pregnancy (and I wasn't just crazy!). Which basically is that my liver was slowed down causing more bile than normal to back up and that causes itching. The biggest concern is that it can cause stillbirth and the only remedy is early delivery. So because of this we now had to schedule twice weekly non stress tests and blood tests to keep an eye on the level. They also put me on medication to help lower the levels. They don't know what causes this, it can be genetics or also more hormones which makes sense since it usually presents later in the pregnancy when you have more hormones. Plus, being IVF maybe that's why I had it with this pregnancy but not my other ones since I was taking hormones early in the pregnancy? We aren't sure but we just wanted to make sure the baby was healthy!

Our city had movie nights at their outdoor pool so we watched The Little Mermaid one Friday night and they had a couple food trucks there too.

June 14, 2019

Kaleb turned 15! And was eligible to get his learners permit! So crazy how fast he's growing up.

June 16, 2019

He wanted this jetpack guy flying drone and got an outdoor game and some other fun stuff.

This was Ashton's Father's Day letter to Matt. He's always so thoughtful.

June 16, 2019

At Sunday dinner with his birthday brownies and we also sang to Victoria and Austin.

Olivia's favorite week of summer came, Princess Dance Week! With a different princess theme each day and fun surprises to take home no wonder she loves it so much.

June 17, 2019

I thought Olivia did pretty good painting Matt for a 6 year old.

June 21, 2019

Date night at Wiseguys comedy club. I will get e-mails for free tickets the day of shows quite often and so we'll jump on the chance to go if we can.

June 21, 2019

Liz was much better at documenting and keeping up with the weeks, etc. than I was! The medication was working and lower the levels some so they weren't so high. The non-stress tests were all non eventful and he was always kicking and so active. It was nice that Liz could hear how much he moved and kicked around since I was always saying none of my kids kicked this much this often. I always wondered when he slept because day and night he was always kicking. But it was also a blessing because I didn't have any days where I worried I didn't feel movement either, so I think he was just making our lives less stressful those last weeks.

Olivia loves playing at Big Bear Park in Sandy so we'll occasionally drive over there to play. They have a fun zipline and climbing structures.

June 22, 2019

We took a family hike up to donut falls since we hadn't been up there with the kids since the boys were little. Definitely a popular place but a nice easy hike.

June 23, 2019

There were even moose off the trail on the way back we got to see.

Kaleb left for a week of EFY with some boys in the neighborhood. They went up to Utah State University.  They are such a great group of kids and I'm glad they were able to go together.

June 24, 2019

Kaleb did take a couple of pictures and then I had to steal a couple from instagram.

This was the day they came home.

June 29, 2019

For a couple of years Matt and I had thrown around the idea of selling our cabin. We bought it as a foreclosure knowing it could be an investment if we ever needed or wanted to sell it and if felt like the right time. With kids getting older it was harder to get up there on the weekends especially in the winter and there's a lot of work and maintenance to do each year.

We loved all of the memories we made up there and how pretty it was up there but it made sense with the market being so great to sell. We called a realtor that had a couple cabins listed in the area and he came to look at it and had the same price we had in mind. We told him we'd clean it up that day so he could take pictures on Monday to list it.

Our realtor took pictures to post a listing but had a cash offer for us that same day before it was even listed so we were under contract just like that. It happened a lot quicker than we thought it would.

There's a lot of pictures but I wanted to have pictures to remember everything. It was fun having a cabin for the last 5 years and it gave us a fun project to work on. We put a lot of love and work into this place and it's crazy how different it is from the day we bought it.

Our blackberries do so well every year so I love when they start growing.
