July 2017

The day before the holiday we went to watch the Riverton parade with my brother and his family. The kids had fun watching the parade.

July 3, 2017

The next morning we met my family for the Murray parade. The littles love giving hugs to each other.

July 4, 2017

Proof that Matt was there whether he wanted to be or not. :)

The boys were playing Pokemon because it was a poke stop where we were sitting.

After we made brunch at my parents we had a water balloon fight and played in the sprinklers.

Victoria wasn't sure what to think about everything!

They added some tarps at the end of the slide to make it a fun water slide for the kids.

We weren't originally planning on doing water games so we weren't prepared with swimming suits, just our regular clothes.

For dinner we went to my aunt and uncles house for a barbecue. The little kids love doing tea parties with my aunt.

Then it was back to my parents to watch the Murray fireworks from their front yard. The kids did some fireworks and sparklers too.

This girl was tired and slept in really late this day.

July 7, 2017

We were babysitting my friends boys for a couple days and the kids had fun sliding into the kiddie pool that Saturday. They played outside for hours with the pool and sprinkler.

July 8, 2017

My uncle had brought a bunch of my cousin's old barbie stuff to see if we wanted any at Sunday dinner. The girl cousins all took some of the different things and Olivia had so much fun playing with everything and dressing all her new barbie's.

July 10, 2017

Her favorite is probably the barbie pool. I remember having one like this when I was little so it was fun to set everything up and watch her play with it.

I found this doll house at goodwill a couple days later and so she uses it as her barbie house to put all her office, bedroom and kitchen stuff that she has.

July 11, 2017

She even helped paint one of the rooms pink.

Matt and I took a quick trip to San Diego. We drove down on Thursday and had dinner with his aunt and uncle that live there. After we left their house we drove over to Coronado to walk on the beach.

July 13, 2017

The next day we went to La Jolla to walk around and see the tide pools.

July 14, 2017

These succulents were HUGE! I put my foot in the picture to show how big they actually were. I loved seeing them all around in people's yards.

The flowers and plants are always so pretty. I loved all the different colors on the hydrangea bushes.

We continued up the coast and pulled out at a couple different view points to explore.

We ended up grabbing fresh fish and chips at a small place in Mission Beach. The fish was really good.

We went over to Coronado again to have dinner and sit at the beach to watch the sunset.

There were long waits for all of the restaurants but we ate at an Italian place right on the main street and it wasn't that expensive and they make all their pasta by hand.

We enjoyed watching the sunset and walking along the beach. The weather was perfect.

The next day we spent most of the day at the beach. We played in the ocean for probably an hour or so until we got out to eat. Matt decided to go back out and I decide to lay out in the warm sun. I even fell asleep while laying on the sand.

July 15, 2017

After we had had enough sun we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

We ended up eating at a restaurant in Old Town called Rockin' Baja Lobster and it was really good. We had a bucket for 2 of food that was more than enough food. It had shrimp, lobster, steak, chicken and a bunch of sides with tortillas with cinnamon butter. Everything was cooked really well and tasted amazing. It was our favorite meal of the trip and probably of any trip we've taken to San Diego. We had fun walking around the shops after dinner.

We drove over to watch the sunset from another lookout point but it was really cloudy and you couldn't see much of a sunset. It was still pretty watching the waves crash into the rocks and hearing the ocean.

The next morning we were up early to drive home. We took Matt's car and had noticed antifreeze leaking out some of the mornings. We filled it up and bought extra just in case for the ride home and it wasn't until leaving St. George after getting gas the car was trying to overheat. So we pulled over and it was 107 degrees outside which was miserable but we had to figure out what to do. Matt kept filling the reservoir with antifreeze but it wasn't going into the radiator. Finally, he figured out where to put it in to fill it back up and we were able to get the rest of the way home without any problems. We took his car in the next day and sure enough there was a big leak in the radiator. Just a week prior the radiator in my car had a leak and had to be replaced so I guess we just weren't having good luck with radiators that month.

I was showing Olivia a picture of her cousin who had her ears pierced that day and Olivia said she wanted to get her ears pierced that night too. She had been wanting to get her ears pierced for over a year and I told her she could but she never really pressed the issue and said she wanted to. This time though she was ready so we took her to the mall that night after dinner and she had them pierced.

July 19, 2017

You could tell she was a little nervous but she didn't cry at all. The girl pierced one ear and Olivia sat there as she did the other one. We picked out some earrings and were on our way.

She picked butterfly earrings. She was good about reminding me to clean them during the day but it was still a rough 3-6 months keeping them clean and the hole from closing. Thankfully that part is behind us though and she loves changing out her earrings about once a week with new ones.

I was leaving the craft store and loved how pretty the sky was.

July 22, 2017

Our blackberries go crazy and we can't keep up with them. It's crazy to see how many are growing at one time and then they all ripen around the same time too. We aren't the best at getting them picked but the kids do a pretty good job.

July 24, 2017

We decided on pioneer day to do another water day in my parents backyard but this time we were prepared with swimming suits.

Even Matt enjoyed the slip n slide.

As camp director the girls in our ward said they really wanted to do a backpacking overnighter so we planned one to Long Lake. It's about 2 miles each way. Matt was able to come too and we had 9 girls that were able to come.

July 28, 2017

Matt and I packed our bags and weighed them the day before. His was 10+ lbs. heavier than my bag. My bag was only 26 lbs. so we figured out some things he didn't absolutely have to have and also put a couple things in my bag to even out the weight a little more. The girls were carrying their own food but we had a stove and water purifier along with a tent. The girls all decided to sleep in hammocks to save on space and weight. All my pictures are with my phone because I didn't want the added weight of a camera, every ounce counts!

The scenery was really pretty. It was a steep hike in some parts but the girls did awesome.

My favorite part was that all the wild flowers were blooming and they were all over.

When we made it to the lake we set up camp right by the water.

The sunset was incredible that night. We all enjoyed sitting by the water and watching the sun set behind the mountains.

I had lasagna for dinner that night and I think Matt had a chicken and rice type of meal. It was nice having a small stove to heat up water for cider and hot chocolate. We sat around the fire until it was time for bed.

The next morning the lake looked like glass. The girls were all still asleep and Matt and I packed up our tent.

July 29, 2017

We really do have the best group of girls. They all get along great and are one big happy group together. I'm lucky I get to be a small part of their group.

Then we hiked back to the car which was a little easier since it was mostly downhill!

As we were leaving we stopped at the Provo River Falls for a minute. The we grabbed lunch in Kamas and headed home.

My uncle gave Kaleb this wet suit and Kaleb thought he needed to model it for us. He really is such a goofball. I love his crazy personality!
