 Olivia and I are always having fun playing with toys at the apartment during the day. She loves this Mickey racetrack that we've had forever. She also loved whatever red drink she must have had that's all over her face!

Every year on Dr. Seuss' birthday our school has a donuts/reading activity before school starts. The kids always like going.

Matt went up to the cabin to park the snowmobile on our lot since many of the roads didn't have much snow left on them.

Kaleb's class earned spirit day (they have different ones each month that each class has to earn to participate) and it was dress as a super hero day. So apparently he was Thor along with his Duck Dynasty wig and beard.

We love going to Crystal Hot Springs and we spent much of the day up there along with my aunt, parents and sister and I guess my skin wasn't used to not having any sun all winter long.

Olivia has a play kitchen at the apartment (we were given) and also one at home and she LOVES to cook food for anyone who will eat it! Everyday she's cooking something. This day she kept bringing me different dishes to try. One day I know I'll miss this so I enjoy playing kitchen with her.

I finally ordered off of eBay knockoff curlformers (much cheaper) and tried them out on Olivia. I bought the extra long and widest size they have.

She wanted to check them out in Kaleb's bathroom after I put them in.

I wasn't sure how well she would sleep in them since I've heard they aren't very comfortable but she didn't seem to mind but it was awkward laying down on them to her at first. This was right after taking them out. They worked really well for no heat curls that last but they can be hard to put in sometimes. Usually if I have to big of a section of hair. I still occasionally use them but most of the time it's quicker and I like the results more of using a curling wand on her hair.

I went with Ashton's class to the nature center on a field trip. It was fun and the kids in his class are great kids.

I always love when the tulips pop up even though it's usually the beginning of February and they end up getting snowed on. Our smaller orange tulips came up later and were really pretty.

The Easter bunny came to our house and left the kids some goodies in their buckets.

I think the Easter bunny was trying to disguise Darth Vader with the baby bunnies.

The kids were excited to check out their goodies.

The Easter bunny always tells us how many eggs there are so we know that all of them are accounted for and without fail there are always a couple that don't get found. You would think since they're all hidden in just the living room we could find them all but nope. It's okay though because the kids, or Matt and I, don't mind finding surprise treats throughout the year.

At after dinner it was time for my aunt and uncles infamous 300+ egg hunt. The kids love it and always come away with more candy than they'll ever eat.

Olivia was perfectly happy coloring eggs with crayons and stickers and we were happy not to deal with the mess that comes with dying them.

My brother loves drones so the guys were playing around with one of his new drones he brought.

So much concentration. We had a great Easter with family!

February 2016

Matt and I had a movie date and went to see The Finest Hours. My sister is awesome and watches the kids pretty regularly so that we can have date nights and we definitely appreciate it!

The next day we went up to the cabin to sled and snowmobile. We had bought an old, but really cheap snowmobile the month before because I was really bummed at not being able to go to the cabin because of my hip since I wouldn't be able to hike up. So when I found a really good deal that was less than what a 2-day rental on a snowmobile we cost we jumped on it. It's been a blast so far, definitely an old snowmobile but it does its job.

It's always pretty up there with all the snow. Matt let me borrow a pair of his sunglasses for the day.

Ashton wasn't feeling well and so he took a nap in the cabin for awhile.

My sister is always reading stories to Olivia and doing whatever else she asks her to do. She can be a little bossy! :)

Olivia loved riding on the snowmobile and never wanted to get off.

Matt took her sledding quite a few times down the big hill by our cabin.

We ended the evening by going to Heber to Dairy Keen for dinner and shakes.

There's this creepy old doll at my aunts house and the kids love to scare people with it, specifically Kaleb so my mom tried pinning him down with the doll but he's just as creeped out by it. She's not actually strangling him he's just over dramatic about everything. :)

The day finally came when Olivia cut her own hair. We were close by and thankfully stopped her after one snip but she gave herself some bangs that are still trying to grow back out a year later. She hasn't attempted to do it again and actually doesn't want her hair cut so hopefully that will be the only time she does that.

I helped with a game for the 6th grade Valentine's party and it also happened to be crazy hair day if your class had earned it so Kaleb was sporting a wig and beard for the day.

After we had lunch at our house with soups and chili and it was a special day for Ashton. He's such a tenderhearted kid and is always giving hugs.

This diva had her afternoons where she couldn't stay awake, especially in the car.

The 6th grade always puts on a Shakespeare festival where they act out different Shakespeare plays and it was fun to watch Kaleb. He has a lot of expression in his voice and I was surprised how well all of the kids did with their acting and being expressive. At that age I know I was too shy to act like that. But they have great teachers that really worked hard with them.

We have great scout leaders in our ward and every month they do an overnighter somewhere, even in the winter. It's great for boys that age to learn to be responsible since they help plan everything and get so much practice packing!

We were trying to organize the toys in the basement but Matt and the kids were sidetracked with a karaoke machine and had fun dancing instead of cleaning.
